About The Artist

I was born in Budapest, Hungary, where I spent my early childhood. My family soon moved to Paris, France, where I grew up and went on to study art and literature at the Sorbonne University.

Over the years I frequently returned to Budapest to study under established tile artist Tuni Terlanday, who cultivated in me the love of art history and painting. In Paris, I worked with art teacher Noga Eliezer. I later moved to the United States, where I currently reside.

Hand painted ceramic tile, a centuries-old tradition, is my expression of choice. By applying old European techniques of china painting on glazed ceramic tiles, which are then kiln-fired, I strive to convey my passion for ancient cultures and art, seen through contemporary eyes. I find endless inspiration in my international travels and the different countries I lived in.

A number of hand painted tiles constitute an intricate panel which is a distinctive, unique decorative element. I find the process challenging and the result visually stunning. China paint produces vibrant colors and exceptional transparency. It is the medium of choice for intricate details which are characteristic of my work. Each piece is one of a kind, traced by free hand, and requires one or more firings in the kiln. These durable, versatile paintings offer diverse installation options such as murals, framed art, and architectural elements.

My tile panels tell poetic stories of an imaginary, colorful world filled with details reminiscent of the past, Nature, and our collective memory.
